Aloha Coaches!

I would like to present to you the 2017 Third Annual Hoops in Hawaii Classics (for the ’17-’18 season). Produced by College Tournaments Hawaii, LLC. in partnership with Sports Travel Hawaii, LLC. and sponsored by Hawaii Pacific University. Classics will be held on the island of O’ahu.

We are just getting going on 2017 prep and for the first time will be offering a $1,500 guarantee to any schools committing by August 15, 2016 via contract and a $2,000 deposit. A $750 guarantee will be granted to schools committing by November 15, 2016.

We already have some spots filled even prior to this initial announcement. Perennial NCAA DIII power, Whitworth University, has committed to the Thanksgiving Classic, as has Lewis and Clark College, Arcadia University and Adams State University. St. Martin’s University will be coming to the Holiday Classic and Hawaii Pacific University will play in both Classics.

More then a handful of other teams are also in the process, including NCAA DII national tourney teams, Northwest Missouri State University (Sweet Sixteen, #13 rank), University of Indianapolis (2nd Round), Harding University (1st rd) and University of Arkansas Fort Smith (1st rd). NCAA DIII #25 ranked North Central College is in the mix as well. We expect the remaining spots to go quick following this announcement. We look forward and are striving to take these Classics to the next level as the “Maui Invitational” for non-DI’s.

The inaugural 2015 Classics this past season went excellent with Hawaii Pacific University (NCAA DII), Western Washington University (NCAA DII), Freed-Hardeman University (NAIA), CSU-San Marcos (NCAA DII) and Grace Bible College (NCCAA) having participated.

The 2016 Classics are set to roll this season with BYUH (DII), Hawaii Pacific (DII), Carleton College (DIII) and West Coast Baptist College (NCCAA) in the Thanksgiving Classic. The Holiday Classic will feature six women’s NCAA DIII teams (Whitman College, North Central College, Wisconsin Lutheran College, Chapman University, Redlands University and Occidental College).
